Making a debut in Belgrade, Serbia, is InterContinental Hotels Group’s (IHG) Crowne Plaza brand, with Crowne Plaza Belgrade having opened its doors to the public.

The newly opened property originally opened as InterContinental Belgrade in 1979. The hotel was bought by Delta Holding in 2008 and, following a new management agreement, was transformed into a Crowne Plaza. Retaining its original exterior, the hotel’s interior has been restyled to resemble a simple, elegant design with large, welcoming spaces.

With 416 keys, two restaurants, a lobby bar, exhibition hall, full service business centre, 12 meeting rooms and a fitness spa centre with a large swimming pool, the hotel is located in the business district of the capital and is a five-minute drive from the city centre and a 15 minute drive from Nikola Tesla International Airport.

“This new and modern hotel will be the pride of Belgrade and Serbia and is extremely well equipped to welcome business and conference travellers to this city,” noted general manager, Crowne Plaza Belgrade, Živorad Vasić.

Vice president – Central & Eastern Europe, Russia & CIS operations, IHG, Rolf Hübner also commented: “Providing quality business services combined with a great night’s sleep is the very fabric of the Crowne Plaza brand. It has been recognised as a reputable business hotel brand consistently for the last 30 years and today Crowne Plaza hotels continue to be globally relevant to ambitious career-focused travellers in the ever evolving corporate world.”
