Kongres Magazine is proud to bring you the 2014 Southeast Europe Meeting Planner profile to gain a better understanding of current conditions and habits of regional meetings planners. An online survey was employed to gain perspective based upon meeting planners’ experiences. The purpose of the survey was to provide an overview of the meeting planning decisions from the meeting planner perspective.

Over the past few months, Kongres magazine team asked qualified meeting planners who plan at least one event in SEE to share their habits.

Their first annual survey on trends, habits, planning and site selection reached a database of more than 500 qualified regional planners, and they received 167 responses. Results show that the overall meeting spend for events for this year with budgets is going to stay the same.

Survey 1

Most of the responses were from corporate segment followed by independent planners, association and last government sector. The vast majority of meeting planners organizes up to 10 events per year. As expected, meeting planners for their events most often choose hotels. Conference and Convention centres are still a popular venue for organizing events.

The most interesting answers were received on a question which of the following sources do you use to find information on destinations for your meetings. More than 75% responded they find information’s by asking friends and colleagues and 68,29% said they use Google. Google has social networking tools, organization tools and chat tools, services for mobile devices so this is no surprise. As they expected, the use of social media within meetings is expected to increase according to their respondents. Kongres magazine results shows that venue-finding agencies are used the least when it comes to finding information’s on destinations.

Survey 2

These are just some of the findings, which Kongres Magazine reveals. Check their new EIBTM issue for more interesting results on SEE Meeting planners habits.
