The fifth Travel Zoom, conference on strategic and creative marketing in tourism, opened its doors today.

Martina Bienenfeld, director of Zagreb Tourist Board and first-time host of the conference addressed the audience and welcomed them in Zagreb. Over two days the conference will host 24 expert speakers from 7 different countries. More than 100 participants will learn and build their marketing skills over the next two days in Zagreb.

On the first day of Travel Zoom, delegates will be able to listen to Andraž Štalec from the leading digital agency in the Adriatic region Red Orbit, Dejan Romih from the European leading brand for mountain holidays MountVacation, Andrej Pompe and Mateja Gruden from BradBusinessSchool and storyteller extraordinaire, Damjan Obal from Edgar. New marketing knowledge will be passed on also during four interactive workshops teaching us how to create excellent stories, how to benefit from the major trend called cultural tourists, how to turn social media followers into buying customers and finally how in a innovative way develop attractive tourism products.

A heated panel discussion on the topic of experience marketing will end the first day. Kevin Jackson, one of the most influential people in marketing in Great Britain with 20 years of experience in the field, will together with Miha Kovačič, director of Slovenian Convention Bureau and Gorazd Čad, director of Toleranca Marketing, Editor-in-Chief of Kongres magazine and organizer of Travel Zoom, point out the importance of unique experience in tourism.

The second conference day will focus on destination marketing. During the day delegated will be able to attend workshops teaching them the newest approaches in digital and direct marketing. Lecturers like Eric Doré, specialist for social media from Côte d’Azur, Yakov Sadchikov, director of communications for two of the biggest travel web sites Oktogo and Travel.ru, Emil Spangenberg, communication wizard at Wonderful Copenhagen, Leo Platt from the UK marketing agency Leopold marketing, Matthew Barker, founder of I&I Travel Media and many other will share their knowledge and experience.

The conference will traditionally end with a round table discussion, this year on the topic “Who are national tourism campaigns really addressing”. Adela Marković, Acting Director of Brand “Croatia” Division at Croatia – Croatian National Tourist Board and Slaven Fischer, Chairman, BBDO ZAGREB will speak about the new Croatian national campaign for tourism that stirred the public, “Croatia full of life”.

In only two days, the fifth Travel Zoom will show the participants how they can with the right use of strategic marketing tools and pinch of creativity become the icons in tourism!
