Maistra from Rovinj, Croatia, will close this year with more than 100 conferences and events held, 60 percent of them being international. [pullquote]There has been an increase in demand for MICE services at Maistra with growing number of professional meetings, marketing events, especially presentations of new products, as well as an increase in the number of participants attending the meetings.[/pullquote] The conference with the highest number of participants this year was surely the Weekend Media Festival held from 24 to 27 September, which was traditionally organized in the city and had over 4,000 participants. The most demanding event to organize was the 100th meeting of UNWTO held this spring at Lone, Rovinj.
A large number of interesting events are coming up next year. More and more conferences have become tailor-made and demand an unconventional way or organization that can sometimes be a challenging job. Clients demand locations with a lot of daylight and avoid the classic type of conference that includes spending the entire day inside of four walls of the hall. Also, great attention is given to planning of their free time, which offers the opportunity to experience the town, culture and customs. There is a notable departure from previous programs with a buffet dinner and a welcome drink. Clients today are looking for more attractive and unique locations, such as areas with swimming pools, beaches and galleries. Mulini Beach in Rovinj that was opened last year is perfect example of such a unique location.
Next year, Maistra will expand its MICE offer with the so-called “mice in green” by organizing seminars in a mobile home campsite Polari. Among the new events Porsche Parade 2016 is being organized with more than 250 Porsche vehicles, and a Polo event which will be held in 5-star hotels Monte Mulini and Lone in June.
Maistra’s current congress offer is diverse. Accommodating even the most demanding technical conferences in hotels of different categories and with different capacities, including its 30 000 square meter Adris Exhibition & Convention Centre, which offers 18 multi-functional halls, is not problem. In addition to that, Maistra announced the opening of a new hotel Park overlooking the old town of Rovinj in 2017, which will also offer conference facilities.
