From 11 to 14 January 2016, Grand Hotel Union hosted the Forum Train Europe (FTA) passenger traffic coordination conference. A record number of 125 production and timetabling experts from all over Europe including a delegation of TCDD, Turkish Railway Company, gathered in Ljubljana.
As the European coordination platform, FTE promotes cross-border coordination amongst railway undertakings and makes an essential contribution to promoting interoperability of European’s rail services. At present the FTE has around 92 members in 31 European countries handling passenger and freight traffic.
FTE A was the first conference in 2016 organized to harmonize the international offering concepts for the timetable 2017 between the railway undertakings. The gathering held in the beautiful city congress hotel in Ljubljana was an ideal opportunity for the professionals attending the conference to prepare the requests for feasibility studies of the international passenger traffic that will serve as the basis for the coordination conference FTE B held from 21 to 24 March 2016.
During the coordination conference FTE A the participants had the possibility to follow a short training about the new interface PCS NG provided by Mr. Máté Bak (RNE).
