An especially visually striking spectacle surprised the visitors of the long shopping night “Stuttgart City in bloom” on the evening of April, 9th 2016.

Together with their framework contractor VOK DAMS, agency for events and live-marketing, energy supplier EnBW staged a walkable installation with sound and laser.

In front of thousand enthusiastic shoppers, Stuttgart’s main square, the Schlossplatz, was changed into a virtual ocean – symbolic for the energy of water.

“Water Lightning” was the headline of this action, which started at about 8.30 p.m. and went on until about 11 p.m.

The Schlossplatz was shrouded in dense fog; sounds filled the air and the light of four high-capacity lasers was reflected in the fog. This created a virtual space, in which the strollers felt as if they were underwater.

“Water lightning” whisked the visitors away into a world of its own, which illustrated the power of water with sound and light, but also atmospherically described its capacity as energy force.

Social Media accompanied this action with the hashtag “#Wasserleuchten”. A grand LED wall next to the music pavilion continuously showed images from Instagram. These images could be printed out on site to be taken along.

In addition to this, a video showed the set-up and gave informational background about how water energy is used in Baden- Württemberg.

“Water Lightning” – an ideal action within the new EnBW image campaign, which follows the leitmotif “Wir machen das schon – we’ll take care of this”. An action, which with its high PR feedback, became the “talk of town”.
