Movers and shakers in the world of high tech are currently in Estonia attending a week of high-powered conferences and special events focusing on the cutting edge of ICT development.

Estonian ICT Week attracts a wide variety of industry experts, visionaries, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and officials from around the world, further cementing Estonia’s reputation as a hotbed of innovation and the go-to country for tech-related gatherings.

The largest component of the week, the Latitude59 conference, kicks off in today at the Tallinn Creative Hub, a popular new venue for offbeat meetings. Involving as many as 1,500 participants and 70 guest speakers, the two-day event will cover topics such as the Internet of Things, the virtual state, artificial intelligence and virtual reality. Renowned American VC investor Tim Draper, Prince Andrew of York and Estonian Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas are slated to open the event, which will include a traditional startup competition as well as product demonstrations by nearly 50 tech companies.
Latitude59 follows three other gatherings that have taken place in Tallinn and Tartu since Estonian ICT Week’s May 27 opening, namely Nordic Digital Day, Garage 48 Space Tech and the ITEE Center of Excellence in Digital Connected Economy seminar. Additionally, the Industry 4.0 Conference and a two-day Green IT seminar will be held before the event series winds down on June 3rd.
