Yesterday, Özgül Özkan Yavuz, General Manager of Istanbul Convention & Visitors Bureau (ICVB), announced that she is moving to new career challenges after 2,5 year on present position at Istanbul CVB. As stated in her statement, she expressed that she has been representing Istanbul for whole career and has extremely enjoyed working for Istanbul CVB, but in terms of even greater business offer she is moving to new career challenges and looking forward to even more diverse experiences in her career.


Before working at Istanbul CVB, Özgül Özkan Yavuz, has been working as Deputy Director at Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Director for International Promotion & Tourism at Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency, Culture & Tourism Attaché at Turkish Embassy at The Hague (Netherlands) and as Urban Planner at Turkey Ministry Of Culture And Tourism.

Istanbul Convention & Visitors Bureau has been established in 1997 and is a non-profit destination marketing organisation working as a branch of Tourism Development & Education Foundation – TUGEV. Its main goal is to represent Istanbul around the world and to seek international associations and corporations planning to hold high-profile international congresses and events. Istanbul, a city connecting 2 continents – Europe and Asia, is the 5th most visited city in the world with population of 14.2 million and has listed as World’s Top 10 congress destination since 2010, has been 2010 European Capital of Culture, 2012 European Capital of Sport, etc.
