Today, the Croatian meetings industry professionals gathered in Zagreb at 5th Forum of Croatian meetings industry, an annual gathering of Croatian meetings industry professionals.

The main topic of this year Forum was a collaboration between meetings industry and associations (non-profit sector), but mayor announcement stole the spotlight – the announcement of Croatia’s new Tourism Minister, Mr Gari Capelli about re-opening of Croatian Convention Bureau under the Croatian National Tourist Board.

The announcement already got first positive feedback from meetings industry professionals who applauded to the announcement of new Tourism Minister (appointed in October 2016) and see this as sign to a brighter future for meetings industry, which has an important role in Croatian tourism. The Croatian Tourist Board precisely today announced that with one month remaining till the end of 2016 and still with numerous Christmas tourist expected, Croatia has set a new record with recorded 16.6. million tourists in the first 11 months (from 1st January to 30th November 2016).


The 5th Forum of Croatian meetings industry is organized by the Croatian Meeting Professionals Association (CMPA), a non-profit organisation founded in 2011 which is the premier professional association for meetings, incentives and event organisers in Croatia and works closely with Croatian National Tourist Board, Croatian Convention & Incentive Bureau, Croatian Association of Travel Agents in developing Croatia into an international meetings and events destination.
