On the Tuesday before Christmas Salzburg Exhibition and Congress Centre was awarded the ‘Green Meetings and Green Events’ Ecolabel. The Ecolabel was awarded to several enterprises for their exemplary practices in the field of eco-friendliness at the ministry responsible for an Austria worth living in – in Vienna.
“These enterprises all combine ecologically sustainable business activities with commercial success. They stand for environmentally friendly practices, high standards, and commitment to pro-ecological action that far exceeds minimum statutory requirements”, explained Andrä Rupprechter during the award ceremony. Two colleagues responsible for project implementation, Michaela Strasser and Sabine Haberl, received the award on behalf of Salzburg Exhibition and Congress Centre.

“In the future, as a licensee we will be able to certify our own events, and indeed third-party events, according to the criteria of the Austrian Ecolabel, and be able to help organisers ensure their planning integrates sustainable practices and is implemented responsibly. This marks the achievement of another milestone on the way to reaching our Corporate Social Responsibility goals”, said a delighted Michael Wagner, Managing Director of Messezentrum Salzburg GmbH.
