Q: The readers of Kongres magazine chose you as one of the most influential people in the South East European Meetings industry. What does this recognition mean to you?

The awareness of Tirol in people’s minds means that our work has been successful and encourages us to continue.

Q: If you look back at the 2016, what would you say were your major achievements?

We were able to enlarge our partner network and to unite our Convention Tirol family to present ourselves as a strong congress and convention destination that works well together.

Q: 2017 – New Year, new plans, new business objectives?

Convention Bureau Tirol will develop its strategy, be present on the relevant markets and show the competence and USPs of the region. Tirol will strengthen its role as a global congress player in unusual congress venues.

Q: Which event are you looking forward to attend next year and why?

We are looking forward to Conventa, Imex and IBTM, and moreover to meeting some of our (new) clients at major sporting events at the “TirolBerg”, such as the Ski World Championship in St. Moritz or Biathlon World Championship in Hochfilzen. We are looking forward to deepening contact with our customers through sales calls and to organising our own Tirol-Events in some hot spots.

Q: Which trends do you believe will shape the meetings industry in 2017?

In my opinion the safety topic will become more and more important and a key decision criterion. Technical developments will influence the meeting industry in different ways. The world is small, social media is having a huge influence and meeting the “right” people in the right place is becoming easier. In return, personal contact will still be important and, to keep the balance, recreation, regional authenticity and uniqueness will influence venue finding.

Q: What is your wish for 2017?

Personally I wish for health and time and in terms of our work I look forward to continuing and growing together with my wonderful team.
