Q: Why did you choose Ljubljana as the destination for the 10th VAS Congress and also why the CD Congress in Ljubljana as the event venue?
Guarant InternationaI (GI) was asked by VAS representatives to find an alternative destination to the originally planned one of Bern in Switzerland. Due to previous experience with Ljubljana, we had this city on the list of potential destinations and based on a comparison chart, hard numbers and GI’s recommendation, Ljubljana was selected in 2015 during the event in Barcelona.
Q: Guarant International is an international PCO with a lot of experience, so in your opinion what are the main advantages of Slovenia as a meeting destination?
We see the following advantages of holding the event in Ljubljana: great pricing, high quality services in general, a charming atmosphere and great people within the industry.
Q: How satisfied are you with the events you’ve organised in Slovenia so far and what are your future plans for this market?
We are immensely satisfied. The VAS congress was GI’s second event in Ljubljana and as soon as there is any further opportunity for meeting in Ljubljana we would be very happy to come again. We are already working on a number of cases.
Q: How did you mark the special, 10th anniversary of VAS in Ljubljana and how was the cooperation with the CD Congress Centre in Ljubljana?
The cooperation with the venue was really professional, prompt, perfect and smooth. The 10th anniversary of the VAS Congress was mentioned on the VAS Congress website and in the printed materials, as well as during the Opening Ceremony.
Q: In your opinion, what is GI’s formula for success?
In short it has to be our close cooperation and personal relations with clients and our fast response to our clients’ needs.
Q: What kind of changes is the congress industry currently experiencing? How does the future of congress tourism look?
Nowadays the issue of security has become an issue right around the world, which we see as both a challenge and an opportunity for congress tourism. We believe cities such as Prague, Ljubljana or Bratislava could benefit from such a situation.
