Slovenian Incoming Workshop, the flagship event of Slovenian tourism industry was held from 11-13th of May in Grand hotel Union.
It hosted 188 foreign representatives from 146 companies and 220 representatives of Slovenian tourism from 130 companies. 67 % percent of foreign company’s representatives visited Slovenia for the first time. They got to know Ljubljana’s cultural and gastronomic offer, visited several hotels and got to know the city.
The event, annually organized by Slovenian Tourist board, connects lead Slovenian tourism businesses, representatives of tourism agencies and foreign tour operators. This year foreign representatives came from 42 counties, mostly coming from Czech Republic, Italy, Austria, Germany, Poland and Great Britain. We were also delighted by the visits from Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, USA, United Arab Emirates, Lebanon and elsewhere.
Tourism Ljubljana prepared four different city tours, Pošta Slovenije organized a special welcome Wine, dine and roses party and attendees were warmly welcomed by Petra Stušek, director of Tourism Ljubljana. Representatives were very efficient as well – more than 3.500 business meetings were held.
The number of foreign representatives at SIW was even higher this year and the representatives truly experienced the city vibes. That shows a bright future for Slovenian tourism and SIW 20TH jubilee conference
