Firenze Convention and Visitors Bureau received an award as the host partner of DWP Congress 2016
The 4th Annual Destination Wedding Planners Congress 2017 was held in Phuket, Thailand, from 2nd to 4th May 2017. QnA International, HQ’d in Dubai, choses different places in the world every year to show the wedding planners the best opportunities to organize luxury weddings.
Just last year, Florence hosted the DWP 2016 and 150 top wedding planners from around the world. In this occasion Florence has proved to be efficient and able to work in synergy, thanks to the great professionalism of local operators, most of them members of Tuscany for weddings, under the coordination of the Firenze Convention and Visitors Bureau, and thanks to the support of the local institutions as Florence Municipality co-organizators of the event, Toscana Promozione Turistica and the Chamber of Commerce of Florence. Since the bidding process, the DWP Congress has been the occasion to open the new division Tuscany for Weddings, developed thanks to an agreement between Toscana Promozione Turistica and the Firenze Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The agreement provides many co-branding activities as the attendance to the main tourism and wedding international tradeshows, in fact it allows FCVB to attend also the 4th edition of DWP 2017. For this reason, this year QnA International rewarded the Firenze Convention and Visitors Bureau as the host partner of DWP Congress 2016; they highlighting many times the unique hospitality and the special organization of the last Florentine edition.
Affresco Events Group and Tenuta di Artimino, both FCVB members, represented Tuscany and Florence to the best, raising great interest in the main opinion leaders of the wedding industry.
Florence and Tuscany are already very popular and leading Italian destinations for International Weddings (1/3 of the Global wedding market share is in Tuscany, and 19% in Florence), but FCVB knows that the competition is very stiff and it comes from all over the World. For this reason Toscana Promozione Turistica has chosen the Firenze Convention & Visitors Bureau to promote Tuscany in the international wedding market, thanks to the new Tuscany for Weddings division.
During DWP Congress 2017, the wedding planners asked more information not only regarding Florence but also about Elba Island and Versilia, for the civil beach weddings, and the Chianti Area, for the symbolic ceremonies between the vineyards and Maremma, for the rural chic weddings. In this occasion, FCVB held more than 40 appointments with wedding and event planners coming from Lebanon, USA, UK, and especially from Asia. Also this year we met VIP wedding planners Marcy Blum, Franc, Mohamed Morani, Kevin Lee and Bhavesh Sawant, decision makers of the destination luxury wedding market.
