Event and venue management software provider Ungerboeck announced a cooperation with the Saudi Event Management Academy (SEMA) during IMEX Frankfurt, the worldwide exhibition for incentive travel, meetings and events that took place from 16-18 May, 2017.

The partnership between Ungerboeck and SEMA was initiated to support education in the area of event management and technology for event professionals in Saudi Arabia. Located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, SEMA is the first event management academy in Saudi Arabia that covers all aspects of the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) industry from concept to reality. SEMA offers high-level courses for students, managers and industry professionals.

The Academy follows the goal of providing highest standard of international level education in the field of event management to Saudi citizens as well as foreigners living in SaudiArabia. SEMA also offers courses from international industry associations, i.e. (ICCA, MPI, IAEE).

Dr.Zohir Al Sarah, CEO at SEMA, is very pleased about the partnership with Ungerboeck: “Our goal is to offer high-quality MICE education courses and certificates. We want our students to be taught by the best professors in the industry and are therefore thrilled to cooperate with such a well-established industry player.”

Ungerboeck will regularly send experts from its international offices to Riyadh to give lectures about event management and technology. “We have been working with industry professionals for more than 30 years and education has always been an important topic for us”, says Silke Hoersch, Director of Marketing, EMEA at Ungerboeck Software International, who signed the official agreement with SEMA at IMEX in Frankfurt.

Ungerboeck’s CEO and President Manish Chandak adds: “The cooperation with SEMA allows us to be part of the growth and further development of the events industry in Saudi Arabia. We are glad to contribute to SEMA’s goal of promoting international education for event professionals”.
