The international congress statistics just released by ICCA for 2016 see the second spot going to the Austrian capital. With a total of 186 events, the city ranked only behind Paris (196) and before Barcelona (181). Christian Mutschlechner, head of the Vienna Convention Bureau (VCB) at the Vienna Tourist Board explained: “We are delighted with another excellent finish this year! The survey is an important industry barometer and benchmark for the Vienna Convention Bureau as it confirms the city’s standing among its international peers.” Fourth place in the ICCA ranking goes to Berlin (176), followed by London (153) and Singapore (151). Amsterdam and Madrid share the seventh place (144 events each) and then Lisbon (138) and Seoul (137) are ranked on the ninth and tenth place.

Broken down by country, Austria comes in 12th overall with 268 events. First place was claimed by the USA (934), followed by Germany (689) and United Kingdom (582).
