It’s not just congresses, conferences, corporate events, music, theatre, drama, films and other business and cultural events that happen at CD Congress Centre Ljubljana, but there are also other events that are not so readily visible or well known to the public – those with a philanthropic note.

Cankarjev dom, the home of CD Congress Centre Ljubljana, is the biggest Slovenian cultural investment of the last century and since its beginning in the late 70s it has proudly supported both Slovenian and international projects. As Cankarjev dom already perfectly combines the cultural and congress aspects of its programme, it is also the natural choice for hosting many of the country’s charity projects. With the participation of well renowned artists and performers from Slovenia and around the world, the charity favourable Slovenian society contributes the much-needed funds for different underprivileged groups. One of the latest projects just about to take place is the 10th Charity Concert of the Red Cross of Slovenia, this year marking the 151st anniversary of the start of its humanitarian mission in the country. An amazing evening for this major charity event is scheduled for 23rd September 2017, with a direct broadcast by Slovenian national TV and radio showcasing Slovenian celebrities getting involved in an online fundraising campaign for the most vulnerable, while the Police Orchestra will be conducting a concert on the stage of Cankarjev dom’s Gallus Hall, its most capacious space and with the best acoustics.

Hot on the heels of this event, the Little Knight Foundation Charity Concert called “Ne bodi kot drugi” and featuring the young singer DITKA and famous writer/poet Feri Lainšček is on the agenda for 8th October 2017. This concert of love poetry set to music is organised to support people overcoming barriers they may encounter due to late cancer treatment in childhood or adolescence. The autumn charity projects in Cankarjev dom will be round off with the major 21st Big Charity Lions Ball on 13th January 2018.

In a world of such a fast pace, where individuality is at the forefront every day and where the collective mind-set is losing its importance, one of the greatest values is to take care of the world around us and to be able to make a difference. Every little action makes an impact in this world and the congress & event industry plays a big part in this through creating magical events, such as those at CD Congress Centre Ljubljana. Little by little, it doesn’t take much to make a better tomorrow for everybody.
