The World Rowing Federation, FISA, in its Ordinary Congress held in Sarasota, Florida, recently announced Slovenian town Bled winning in a bid for the organisation of the 2020 World Rowing Senior, Under 23 and Junior Championships.

The events will be held in August 2020, between the Olympic and Paraolympic games in Tokio. Bled won with its record 94 points against Polish Poznan’s 47.

Bled’s unsurprising achievement proved once again how this town is perceived as an excellent host and organiser. Certainly the spotless September’s organisation of the World Masters Regatta hosting almost 5000 participants from 46 countries and 1000 competitions in 5 days, convinced judges to yet again choose the famous and scenic Slovenian lake to carry out hundreds of rowing boats on its waves. Keep in mind, Bled has already hosted and organised other elite rowing competitions: The World Championships in 2011 and two World Cups in 2010 and 2015, and has always showed to be top-notch rowing organiser and destination. Congratulations!
