The Volkswagen 22nd Ljubljana Marathon Running EXPO fair, held at GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre from Thursday 26th October to Sunday 29th October 2017, opened the official programme for the 22nd year in a row the Ljubljana’s sport event of the year. Also the place where runners are collecting their running numbers, the free admission fair aims at basically everybody, from runners, families, athletes, fans and passers-by and offers various providers of sports brands, providers of nutritional supplements and other exhibitors the centre of attention for the most active population and Marathon Centre of Sports Medicine offering the runners and visitors a free expert advice and quick medical check-ups.

Running, running, running …
More than 18,240 runners will take over the streets of Ljubljana, Slovenian capital this weekend at the biggest running event in Slovenia, organized every year since 1996 by the city of Ljubljana and traditionally held in October. Every year the event welcomes higher number of participants and the media attention, with accompanying Running EXPO at GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre offering every year better programme, more exhibitors and more interesting programme for the warming up before the event, basically everything for the lovers of running, one of the most popular sport worldwide.

The biggest running event in Slovenia
This year the youngest runners will start the event with kids “Lumpi run” on Saturday 28th October and Sunday will be as usually reserved for the professional and amateur runners pushing their limits on the marathon and half marathon run with the 10, 21 and 48 kilometres route. Sport event of the year will gather runners from 58 countries and as usual high number of their supporters will be cheering the runners all through the route over Ljubljana, the more and more popular tourist destination, also regarding the congress tourism.
