At the trade fair grounds in Munich, the demand has been vastly growing over the years and more space is needed for own shows as well as third-party exhibitions and congresses.
Deliberations about a further expansion of Messe München with two additional halls to increase existing capacities have been ongoing since 2011.The actual construction work for two new halls, C5 and C6, and the Conference Center Nord started in summer 2016: As of fall 2018, 18 state-of-the-art exhibition halls will be ready for occupancy as well as the Congress Center München, a new conference center located in the northeast of the trade fair venue.
The Conference Center Nord is due to open in January 2019 and will offer ideal conditions for a wide variety of trade fairs, conventions and events. Thanks to its prominent location directly adjacent to the outdoor exhibition area, the new Conference Center Nord features ample park-ing space and is accessible by public transport from the Messestadt Ost subway stop. Events held on the upper floor of the Conference Center Nord can be combined with additional exhibition and catering areas in Hall C6 and with other conference halls of various sizes to create an attractive, customized event space. The state-of-the art new hall at ground level offers generous event space with plenty of natural light thanks to expansive glazing. Its column-free construction and a ceiling height of ap-prox. 11 meters make the hall fully vehicle-accessible. Hall C6 features mobile parti-tion walls and can be individually divided in both transverse and longitudinal direction, thus offering tailor-made solutions for exhibitions, conventions and meetings to suit any requirements.
