In the recent Board Meeting of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine, which took place in Vienna in October 2017, the Board agreed to continue the cooperation with Barcelona and Vienna.

It was decided that after 2016 and 2019, the 2022 and 2025 Congresses will take place in Barcelona again, and Vienna will be the host city in 2023 and 2026 (after 2017 and 2020). The congress venues will be the CCIB in Barcelona and the Austria Center Vienna in Vienna.

More than 6,300 participants attend the annual congress of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine. A total of more than 2,000 scientific abstracts and almost 160 sessions are offered to the participants. New elements are the Review Centre, where participants can view a presentation in case they missed it and can ask directly questions to the presenters. Another successful novelty is the “Under 30’s session” – where outstanding papers submitted by young researchers and scientists have been presented in an own session within the framework of the European Congress.

Kristoff Muylle, President of the Europan Association of Nuclear Medicine: „We started our longterm cooperation with Barcelona and Vienna with the congresses 2016 and 2017 and the overall positive impact for us as an association but also for our participants made it easy for the Board to confirm the cooperation until 2026 with both cities.“

„We are happy to continue our two city approach with the European Association of Nuclear Medicine which was made possible by the open and transparent cooperation between the CCIB in Barcelona and the Austria Center Vienna in Vienna.“ Christoph Tessmar, Director of the Barcelona Convention Bureau adds.

„The ongoing city cooperation supports the focus of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine to concentrate in content and meeting design development and to further enhance the quality of the leading educational event in Nuclear Medicine in the world.“ Christian Mutschlechner, Director Vienna Convention Bureau, comments the decision of EANM.
