This year Slovenia has been bidding for the organization of this great international event and has done an excellent job. The official announcement of Slovenia to be the host of IGTM 2018 was made on Tuesday, December 12th at the official opening of this year’s trade show held in the French city of Cannes. The participants of the trade show were greeted and addressed by the State Secretary at the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, Eva Štravs Podlogar.
The International Golf Travel Market – IGTM, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, is the world’s largest trade show of golf tourism providers, where around 1,200 golf industry travel agents meet annually, while members achieve an 80% share of the revenue of all global golf tourism.
The members of the Global Golf Tourism Organisation (IAGTO) meet on an annual basis, each year at the different destination. Over 500 providers of golf courses, golf resorts, and hotels attend business meetings and presentations of destinations, over 450 golf tour operators and around 100 specialized golf media from 65 countries gather at one place. Reed Exhibitions organize the specialized event, which is also the organizer of the International Travel Trade Show WTM in London and many other important tourist fairs around the world.
