Ljubljana Convention Bureau has recently announced the year 2018 as being a record year in terms of the number and size of professional and scientific events. In line with its mother city, CD Congress Centre Ljubljana, one of two biggest Ljubljana’s congress centres, also has an astonishing year ahead of it. To be precise, 24 international professional events were already booked in CD so far. Even more, two of the events will host more than two thousand delegates.
Cankarjev dom, located in the centre of the city within the main modernist square and neighbouring all the major instituions of the Slovenian state (the Parliament, the Governmental Palace, and the Presidential Palace), has been for 38 years the legendary institution and a synonym for cultural and humanistic activities and meetings industry in Slovenia. In CD Congress Centre Ljubljana, the cultural-artistic programme and congress activity have been excellently complementing each other at all times of operation – a paradigm, which is particularly of interest today. All of this places the CD among one of the highest quality and most interesting convention centres in Europe.
CD is also the only Slovenian member of IAPCO. PCO agency of the CD can be compared to the largest congress organizers in the world. About their experiences speaks also the fact that they realized more than 200 events and in scope of those also more than 1,000 smaller events per year. The majority of them in their own venue, the CD Congress Centre.
Therefore, no wonder that the demand for its congress offer has been reaching the sky. CD Congress Centre Ljubljana successfully bid and won for organization of the ESSM Congress 2019 and added to their great congress story also the organization of the European Congress of thoracic surgeon (ESTS) 2018 which will be held from 27th to 30th May 2018 in Ljubljana.
This is without a doubt a great achievement for Slovenian congress industry which is becoming more and more attractive for organization of congresses and different kind of events and CD Congress Centre Ljubljana confirms their role as a central Slovene congress centre with the highest number of international congresses.
