Malaysia is ready to blaze the trail in Australia following the successful hosting of the 9th World Urban Forum (WUF9) in Kuala Lumpur earlier this month, further highlighting the nation’s capabilities and capacities in organising large-scale business events in the region.

Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), an agency under the Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia, was a strong supporter of WUF9, held from 7th to 13th February 2018 and attracted more than 22,000 participants from 165 countries, among them more than 100 ministers and deputy ministers. WUF9 is only the start of a banner year for Malaysia in 2018, as the country is set to host more global conferences such as the IFLA World Library and Information Congress 2018, the World Cancer Congress 2018, and the WorldChefs Congress 2018, among others.

To continue promoting Malaysia as the preferred business events destination internationally, MyCEB together with 15 industry partners** ranging from hotels and state bureaus, convention centres are currently participating in the leading exhibition for the meetings, incentives and events industry, Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME) from 20th – 21st February 2018 at Melbourne, Australia. This marked the eighth consecutive year of MyCEB’s participation at the prominent tradeshow and will sustain the momentum from a great showing in 2017 where Malaysia successfully hosted and supported a total of 287 business events, which delivered an estimated economic impact of 453 million (AUD) as well as attracted 120,528 international delegates.
