Vienna House, Austria’s largest hotel chain, which manages five hotels in the Czech Republic, has appointed Monika Hilm as the new General Manager of Vienna House Andel’s Prague and Angelo by Vienna House Prague. As of 1 February 2018, Monika is also responsible for all Vienna House properties on the local market as a Regional Director.

Monika Hilm has been working in the hotel industry since 1999. She started her career with Hilton Hotels, where she worked for 13 years, and which brought her via London, Bucharest, Athens, Vienna and Copenhagen to Hilton Prague Old Town. After leaving Hilton Hotels in 2012, Monika became a regional general manager for Parkhotel Praha, Hotel Rehavital and Villa Schwaiger, a private hotel group in the Czech Republic. Monika has shared her leadership experiences by publishing a book entitled: “Put Your People First and the Rest Will Follow”.

Monika has a Bachelor of Science (Hons) from Oxford Brookes University in Hotel Management, as well as a Business Administration degree from American College, Singapore. In addition to her mother tongue, being Swedish, she is fluent in English, Danish and German. Monika has been living in the Czech Republic for more than nine years, together with her husband and two children.

In her new role, Monika has replaced Klaus Pilz, who had been Regional Director since 2015, and who has decided to take on a new challenge.
