A treat was combined of 11 km of an inspiring walk, meeting 9 first-class Istrian winemakers, 7 local producers and caterers and delighting in 7 tasting stops. Istria Wine & Walk, the 4th and popular eno-gastronomic event, was attendeed by 600 lovers of wine and walks.

The event started in Buje where the participants got their tasting glass, a map of the trail, and boarded a minibus that took them to the first stop. The first stop was at half a century old Santa Lucia vineyard, the starting point fort he wine and walk tour of the vineyards and olive groves. Istrian winemakers and other local producers greeted them with luscious culinary treats and divine wines at every 2km of the trail. Participants enjoyed the straw-yellow shades of Istrian Malvasia and ruby colours of red wine.

Along the eno-gastronomic offer, the participants were astonished by the natural beauties of the northwestern Istria; they were taken to a lookout from which they could zoom in on the Ćićarija tops and the sea in the distance, as well as to the Škarlina Nature Park and its unique creeks and small lakes. Not just nature, also art was on offer. Namely, the participants were also able to visit the »Tigor’s Friends« exhibition in the Tigor Gallery and 2 wine cellars nearby Brtonigla.

Among many local participants, there was a lot of foreign ones as well; most of them from Slovenia. This year’s Istria Wine & Walk wrapped up in Buje, where the participants continued their eno-gastronomic experience with live music and celebration long into the night.

In autumn, the Wine & Walk by the Sea will take the participants to beautiful walks along the sea, through the vineyards and olive groves.
