On his worldwide book tour, promoting his latest release – a thriller inspired by Shakespeare’s Macbeth, Jo Nesbo will also stop in Ljubljana. Jo Nesbo, born in 1960, is one of the world’s bestselling crime writers.

His Harry Hole crime mysteries have been a runaway success both in Norway, Nesbo’s native land, and internationally (selling over 40 million copies around the world), fascinating the critics, booksellers and readers alike. His award-winning books have been published in 40 languages, and have topped various bestseller charts.

Jo Nesbo is also a former freelance journalist and a stockbroker. Known primarily for his crime novels featuring Inspector Harry Hole, Nesbo is also the main vocalist and songwriter for the Norwegian band Di Derre. In 2007 he released his first children’s book, Doctor Proctor’s Fart Powder. The 2011 film Headhunters is based on Nesbo’s novel The Headhunters.

In 2014 it was announced that Nesbo would contribute a re-telling of the story of Macbeth as part of the Hogarth Shakespeare project, described as a ‘crime noir’ version of the tragedy.

Currently he’s been on European tour presenting this exact book. The talk with Jo Nesbo (organised in cooperation with the Didakta publishing house) at Cankarjev dom on 12 May at 7pm will be hosted by writer and journalist Tadej Golob, and followed by book signing.
