To mark the 2018 theme, the Centre’s Safety, Health and Environment Division will also kick off an initiative to encourage all team members to bring in plastic waste to be recycled and disposed of in a responsible manner.

Applauding the team members’ efforts, the Centre’s General Manager, Alan Pryor shared, “It was great to see many team members working together to sustain a better environment within and around the Centre’s grounds in order to conserve and preserve our commitment to being a convention centre that operates its business in a responsible and sustainable manner.”

He continued, “These activities are a cornerstone of our annual CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) programme as we have a responsibility to contribute to the sustainability of our environment and our community.”

World Environment Day 2018, which was celebrated on 5 June, provides a platform for action and is the UN’s most important day for encouraging worldwide awareness and action for the protection of our environment. Since it began in 1974, it has grown to become a global platform for public outreach that is widely celebrated in over 100 countries.
