VIENNA'S ICONIC NEW FACE
When Anshelm von Rotschild established the CreditAnstalt bank in 1855, he probably did not think that this neo-classicist building will once be a hotel. In 1912, the biggest Austro-Hungarian bank of that time built a mighty building at this renowned location. Today, this distinctive structure has been turned into a superior hotel belonging to a legendary brand, which is located at one of the top spots of Vienna: the Golden Quarter. The hotel is surrounded by a street of prestigious stores and historical sites.
The hotel is located within Vienna’s First District, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It also sits within the heart of the most exclusive shopping district in Vienna, just a few steps away from the celebrated fashion houses of Prada, Louis Vuitton, Emporio Armani and many more, as well as the boutiques of Kohlmarkt. Moreover, the hotel is in walking distance to the city’s most important sights, historic monuments and museums.
COLD APPETIZER - Architecture and Aesthetics
As the building is under monumental protection, the architectural bureau of Neumann & Partners was faced with the challenging task of carefully renovating the exterior and interior of the hotel and its various interesting details. A unique and elegant hotel was created, which bears no resemblance to conventional hotels. Every single detail was carefully designed, renovated and repurposed. Where bank officials used to sit behind counters, an elegant restaurant was founded named “the Bank”, offering free-flow cuisine.
WARM APPETIZER - Staff and catering
Upon entering the hotel the guest is offered special personal treatment in accordance with the Hyatt hotels standards. We soon experience this ourselves, as a friendly hotel receptionist is taking care of all the details and makes a good first impression. This is Old Viennese School at its highest level. The cuisine is based on local ingredients. One of the small courtesies guests at breakfast will notice is the neatly packaged honey from the surroundings of Vienna produced under the brand name “Honey from Heaven”, which bears the beekeeper’s signature.
MAIN DISH - Conference hotel service
The rooms captivate through luxurious minimalism, elegance, attention to detail and nice colour combinations. The intelligent management of all sophisticated devices includes a rarely seen gadget used to electronically control water temperature in the bath. All gadgets and the entire electronic room control are operating smoothly, intuitively and are user-friendly. Boutique cosmetics from Blaise Mautin, which is available only in Park Hyatt Hotels, aromatically round up the whole experience in the rooms.
The innovation of the renewal is best noticed in the legendary congress hall, which after the renovation looks exactly the same as the original hall – the super-modern digital technology is hidden in the background and you can barely notice it. The renovation has been particularly difficult as the entire building is listed as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. The hall acoustics are exceptional and some technical solutions, such as a television hidden in the fireplace, are simply stunning. One of the technical achievements offered is the possibility of streaming HD video in the rooms so guests can follow the happening in the congress hall from any hotel room.

All gadgets and the entire electronic room control are operating smoothly, intuitively and are user-friendly.

There is nothing to criticise, only maybe the high price, which is justified at every step.
TOP – POSITIVE SURPRISES
The image of a man with a good cigar in one hand and a glass of his favourite spirits in the other has long been the stuff dreams are made of. For such a “mancation” the Living Room lounge, which awakens all the senses and is among the better stacked in Vienna, is the ideal choice.
OVERALL IMPRESSION AND CREDIBILITY
A unique combination of tradition and modernity. A temple of exceptional hotel aesthetics, which is very intimate at its core, respectful to history and refined, and without the slightest bit of pretence. All this has inspired us during our visit and we strongly believe that this newly opened hotel has set new standards in the regional hotel industry, as nothing has been left to chance. A work-of-art hotel, truly unique.
