On 31 July 2016, the Palais des Congrès de Paris became the first international conference centre to offer its customers High-Density WiFi (Wave 2 standard), courtesy of Hewlett Packard. This exciting new technology will take Viparis’s new “Guest Attitude” service to the next level, and will help the city of Paris to maintain its market lead.

Viparis is always seeking innovations that provide customers with greater comfort and an improved visitor experience.

When Viparis wanted to renew the WiFi infrastructure in the exhibition halls, amphitheatres and conference rooms at the Palais des Congrès de Paris, it naturally turned to one of the sector’s leading firms, Hewlett Packard Enterprise. HPE is world-renowned for its expertise and cutting-edge technological solutions, and its Aruba Networks division (which received top ratings from Gartner in late 2015 in the “Wired and Wireless LAN Infrastructure” category) offered to equip the Palais with a revolutionary new system capable of providing each individual with a High-Density WiFi connection. Built to comply with the 802.11ac Wave 2 standard1, the system can deliver simultaneous, individual connections to nearly 25,000 people, and at a significantly higher rate than that available from standard WiFi networks. Now that’s an achievement!

Le Palais des Congrès de Paris– at the cutting edge
The infrastructure installed at the Palais des Congrès not only meets the requirements for High-Density WiFi capacity (which is expected to quadruple over the next five years), but its design also takes into account the site’s architectural constraints. HPE Aruba’s ClientMatch technology optimises the high-density connection by adapting to visitors’ movement within the Palais des Congrès.

In the words of Gérald Karsenti, CEO of HEP France, “Hewlett Packard’s teams are extremely proud of our global technological partnership with Viparis. We look forward to assisting the Group during its digital changeover – one of HPE’s core skills.”

The new WiFi network will give a boost to Viparis’s bouquet of four digital services entitled “Smart Visit”. Smart Visit makes visits easier to organise and helps people do business. Smart Visit is a location-based mobile website for smartphones and tablets. It proposes a range of information, including floor plans of trade shows, upcoming events and practical info. It also provides analyses of visitor flows and behaviour, a “click and collect” service that makes meals a breeze, custom-made itineraries and location-based offers.

“High-Density WiFi is helping us take our service policy to the next level. Thanks to this new infrastructure, organisers can enhance their events’ performance, while easy and seamless access to data will help visitors enjoy a more personalised experience.”  Michel Dessolain, CEO of Viparis
