Slido introduces Slack integration for internal event organisers

Audience interaction specialist Slido today announces that its award-winning platform will be integrated with team messaging app Slack

The integration of the popular messaging platform allows company employees – in organisations who use Slack as a primary communication tool – to send their questions before or during their meetings directly from Slack. This integration avoids switching between platforms, streamlining the experience and encouraging widespread engagement with users already familiar with the existing Slack interface.

The integration also supports Slido’s moderation feature, enabling Slido admins to instantly approve or dismiss questions asked during meetings in a private Slack channel that users can create in their Slack teams. This feature helps many large event or meeting organisers to manage all incoming questions being posed from multiple rooms in one conveniently centralised channel, ensuring they are reviewed and displayed in real time.

The integration works through a purpose-built Slack app called ‘@slidobot’. Found in the Slack App Directory, once installed, employees need to simply open it, join the event by entering a unique code and start asking questions. These questions will be automatically sent to Slido.

Peter Komornik, CEO of Slido, says: “We have been using Slack at Slido for almost three years and it has had an incredible impact on the way we communicate internally. We share a common vision with Slack, striving to transform the way in which people interact, whether at work or at events.”

Figures from 2017 reveal that Slack is reported to be used by over 5 million users per day, while it is believed that more than three quarters of Fortune 100 companies in the United States actively use Slack in their day-to-day communications.

The integration with Slack is the next step in Slido’s goal to make joining a conversation even easier and more seamless for meeting participants, allowing event organisers to further engage their audiences. Since launching in 2012, more than 5 million poll votes have been cast and over 1.5 million questions asked on the Slido platform.
