From December 10th to 13th, Buenos Aires will host the XI Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization (WTO), the international forum that regulates trade between nations. It is the largest event ever held in Argentina, with more than 4,000 representatives from 164 foreign delegations.
Indexport Messe Frankfurt S.A., the Argentine subsidiary of Messe Frankfurt, is in charge of the organization of this mega-event, after having been selected by public tender. The company must provide diverse services for 4,000 people that will participate in the Summit in five different venues: the City Convention and Exhibition Center (CEC); the Kirchner Cultural Center (CCK); the Hilton Hotel; the Sheraton Hotel and the Chancellery building.
Mr. Detlef Braun, Member of the Executive Board of Messe Frankfurt, said: “This is another prove of the company’s successful South American extension strategy. Messe Frankfurt has a history of 777 years, since 30 years we maintain activities outside Germany with our 30 subsidiaries around the world. And we can always rely on the deep knowledge and experience of our colleagues when it comes to the organization of big congresses and events.”
More than 1,500 people will work directly in the event to provide all the required services. These include infrastructure and furniture, audiovisual equipment + IT, transportation and logistics, posters and signage, connectivity and internet access, bilingual and trilingual assistance staff, among others.
The Conference’s agenda includes several events in parallel, the main one was the opening ceremony which took place on December 10th at the CEC. Four Latin American presidents attended, as well as delegates and special guests.
