The WMSM is an academic conference that has a goal of advancing research in the field of sexual dysfunction as well as the advancement and dissemination of related studies. This is the first time for the conference to be held in Japan.

It will take place September 16-19 of 2020 at the PACIFICO Yokohama.

Thanks to support from the Yokohama Convention & Visitors Bureau and the PACIFICO Yokohama working in unison with local government officials, a successful bid was made to host this conference.
The final choice of Yokohama was made due to the superior advantages the city has to offer as an international conference venue, such as ease of access both domestically and abroad as well as having conference facilities, exhibition halls and hotels all located in a concentrated area.

The Chair of the WMSM 2020 will be Koichi Nagao, MD, PhD. Prof. Nagao is a professor in the Department of Urology at the Toho University School of Medicine and also the Director of the Reproduction Center at the Toho University Omori Medical Center. He expressed his goals for the conference with the following statement:

“As many of you know, the population of Japan has been steadily decreasing, and we hope that further development and application of sexual medicine will help address this problem. We look forward to a highly productive meeting in three years and hope that everyone present at this historic gathering will
be better equipped to address the many challenges of our generation.”

The conference is to be organized by the International Society for SexualMedicine with cooperation from the Japanese Society for Sexual Medicine and Asia Pacific Society for Sexual Medicine. 1,200 participants are expected to attend with close to 400 traveling from abroad.
