Leipzig

At the most important trade fair for the international congress, meeting, events and incentive sector, held from 15 until 17 May, Leipzig Tourismus und Marketing GmbH and five partners of the congress initiative will present Leipzig as a destination along with its many attractive conference facilities. Representatives of the Congress Center Leipzig (CCL) and its KONGRESSHALLE am Zoo Leipzig, of Porsche’s Leipzig plant, the Red Bull Arena Leipzig, event lab. and Zoo Leipzig look forward to discussions with trade fair visitors in Frankfurt. In addition, visitors will experience live the creation of an interactive work of art.

Every minute the exhibition stand will be transformed thanks to Berlin artist collective OLD YELLOW, which brings walls to life. The unique work created during the fair will ensure the perfect setting for lively exchange. At the same time, the performance underscores the intention to focus Leipzig’s presence at IMEX on the urban and creative sides of the city just as much as its classic attractions and highlights. Against this backdrop, Leipzig Tourismus und Marketing GmbH and the partners of the “do-it-at-leipzig.de” conference initiative will present a whole host of Leipzig’s conference facilities.

Congress Center Leipzig and KONGRESSHALLE attract new conferences to Leipzig

In a varied conference year, the CCL welcomed around 93,500 participants to 73 events in 2017. The CCL’s KONGRESSHALLE am Zoo Leipzig also recorded a positive development in every respect. Among other events, the annual conference of the German Society for Radiation Oncology, the annual conference of German-speaking SAP users, the congress of the International Society for Microbial Ecology (ISME) and the 72nd German Jurists Forum will be hosted by the CCL for the first time in 2018. The KONGRESSHALLE has also succeeded in attracting the likes of the “greenmeetings und events” conference, which it will host in 2019. As winners of the Meeting Experts Green Award, both CCL and fairgourmet – the KONGRESSHALLE’s exclusive catering partner – are pleased to have secured this conference of the German-speaking event industry.

Porsche Leipzig – More experiences per event

Porsche Leipzig is more than just a production site. The diamond-shaped customer centre located on the plant premises offers space for events of various types and sizes. Whether a conference, gala dinner or customer event – with an indoor area of well in excess of 5000 m² for more than 800 guests and an outdoor area of more than 400 hectares, the possibilities are endless. The extraordinary extras are a real highlight. For instance, event participants can choose a factory tour for a behind-the-scenes look at how the Panamera and the Macan are built, or test the Porsche range at the site’s very own, FIA-certified circuit and on the off-road tracks.

Red Bull Arena Leipzig – More than just football

Even when RB Leipzig aren’t playing a home game, the Red Bull Arena Leipzig is a great place for unique events. A wide range of companies benefit from the perfect conditions offered by the Red Bull Arena to stage events in an extraordinary atmosphere. Nine modern and elegant rooms as well as 19 VIP boxes are available, both individually and in combination. The hospitality areas vary in size between 30 and 1000 square metres. When no matches are scheduled, the stadium interior is also used for events. Whether seminars, meetings, conferences, presentations or open-air events – the Red Bull Arena Leipzig offers the perfect setting.

Conferences at the ‘zoo of the future’

Since being modernised as a ‘zoo of the future’, Zoo Leipzig has developed into one of the most modern zoological gardens in the world. In 2017 it unveiled its new Himalaya mountain landscape, a home for endangered snow leopards and red pandas, while a themed South American area is planned for May 2018. The zoo will also celebrate its 140th birthday in June. Event organisers can find exciting alternatives for conferences, receptions, parties and workshops all year round. A total of eight locations offer the perfect ambience for events of all kinds. The event rooms in the interactive tropical world of Gondwanaland, the Hacienda Las Casas, the African-style Kiwara Lodge and the Palmensaal allow companies, organisations and families to enjoy an exotic and exciting time spent amidst fascinating fauna and flora – whatever the season. In the summer months, the Asian pagoda, the African jungle village, the Kiwara Kopje event area and the former concert garden all offer fascinating additional locations. Zookeepers take guests on a journey of discovery, while regional and international artists provide inspiring entertainment.
