Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Ljubljana just announced that its 6th edition in GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre has been, due to the record number of fashion designer, moved from 4th of April to 10th of May 2018. At the same time, the Ljubljana organiser promises a new and bold setting taking its imagination further than the parent event’s concept.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week (MBFW), fashion industry’s well-established event, has been for more than two decades launching prestigious fashion weeks in various destinations around the globe. Ljubljana is one of the lucky world’s cities that has been included into the MBFW network under the name Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Ljubljana (MBFWLJ). With this kind of event, Ljubljana, as a fashion capital, gains in the international recognition and status. Through MBFWLJ, the integral part of the international fashion trends, domestic creators get new opportunities in the international fashion platforms.

This year’s sixth edition of the famous international fashion event will, again, set its fashion runways in the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre’s (GR) Marmorna Hall. The crème de la crème of the domestic and regional fashion collections will for three days take charge of the catwalk placed inside the GR. The record number of 20 fashion designers from Slovenia and its wider region will be able to incorporate presentations of their work in the marvellous (or let’s say ‘marbellous’ since Marmorna in the Slovene language stands for ‘marble‘) hall that offers endless options for setting events. Particularly when it comes to the MBFWLJ which does not compromise its imagination and rather pushes its creative and innovative approach even further than expected.

Within this year’s MBFW’s global campaign, #mbcollective, invited to cooperation and co-creation of the Mercedes-Benz’ story seven visionaries. Among them are individuals from different environments, professions, and experiences who share a modern view on the current fashion development and trends. The #WeWonder campaign includes singer Solange Knowles, fashion model Slick Woods, designers Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, curator and blogger Kimberly Drew, curator and fashion critic Hans Ulrich, and Kevin Ma, the founder of the successful portal Hypebeast.

MB Fashion Week Ljubljana, though, is not just following the MBFW’s trends, but it rather even surpasses them. Namely, MBFWLJ, which is created by Slovenian marketing agency Pristop, offers this year a new and bolder integrated image of the event through usage of its own concept of a strong identity by which the event stands out from the generic image of the global MBFW platform.

The new image encompasses bold graphic elements and photos of fashion creations seen on the catwalks of the previous MBFWLJ edition. With this step, the MBFWLJ additionally highlights and supports the domestic fashion designers, indicates the current design trends, and encourages growing design talents and ideas. GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre will, thus, once again be the perfect spot for unleashing the imagination of the show. This article’s stunning photos of the previous edition of the MBFWLJ say it all.
