The International Golf Travel Market (IGTM), which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2017, is the world’s largest golf tourism provider, which brings together over 1,300 golf travel industry professionals from all over the world for four days of networking and deal-making. Generating over 9.5 million euro of business, the unique focus of the event is on the 1:1 pre-scheduled meetings, which connect golf tourism suppliers with pre-qualified buyers (golf tour operators).

This year, the world’s largest event in the golf industry will be hosted by GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre. The IGTM every year moves location, showcasing a different golfing destination. Thus, the organiser announced on its website, that it is »delighted to announce that in 2018, the event will take place in IAGTO’s 2015 Undiscovered Golf Destination of the Year, Slovenia

»The fast-growing golf destination, which received more than 4.3 million tourists in 2016, has 13 gold courses, including Royal Bled Golf Course – the oldest in Slovenia. Alongside a wealth of high quality hotels, the country is gaining a burgeoning reputation for gastronomic excellence, led by Ana Roš, who was named the World’s Best Female Chef at the 2017 World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards,« noted the organiser for whom the selection of the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre for the venue came naturally due to the GR’s advantage of being Slovenia’s largest venue for fairs and exhibitions, educational events, business conferences, and congresses located in the heart of Slovenia’s capital.

The special event is organized by Reed Exhibitions, the world’s leading exhibition organiser which is also the organizer of the WTM business tourism market in London and many other important tourist fairs around the world. Reed Exhibitions will in partnership with IAGTO (International Golf Tournament Organizations Association) provide a winning combination of event and industry expertise fort he world’s golf tourism professionals.

The organisers expect that the business meetings and presentations of destinations will be attended by over 500 providers of golf courses, golf resorts and hotels, over 450 golf tour operators, and around 100 specialized golf media from 65 countries what enables the GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre to, yet again, show its regional primacy in hosting important and large international fairs and exhibitions.
