The Croatian Meeting Professionals Association – CMPA  (Hrvatska udruga profesionalaca kongresnog turizma – HUPKT) organised on the 11th of December the seventh Forum of the Croatian Meetings Industry. The annual forum gathers professionals from business, congress, incentives and event tourism, along with representatives of institutions and media. This year it was held in Sheraton Hotel in Zagreb.

The introductory part of the Forum was an opportunity for an annual overview of CMPA activities as well as a look at the future. The main topic of this year’s Forum “New Trends in Corporate Events” was firstly presented by Keno Lyons from Dublin’s KLC, and then followed by a panel discussion.

After years of crisis stagnation or at least a great deal of caution, it seems that corporate events are returning. Do these events have a new approach and which trends are important when designing and organizing current events? In the panel that followed the topic of the Forum, guests from corporations, companies and institutions that organise top events joined the discussion: Martina Rizman Matić, Director of Corporate Communications at A1 Croatia; Slavica Olujić Klapčić, Director at Katapult Promotion Agency; Smiljana Štrbac, Director of Human Resources at KPMG Croatia; and Biljana Janev Hutinec, Director of Public Institution Park Maksimir, to name a few.

Like every year, the Forum was also the occasion for awarding the annual awards to the Ambassador of Croatian Meetings industry; the awards went to professionals who have achieved remarkable success in the meetings-incentive-event tourism of Croatia in the last year.
