It has been ten years, that the Österreichische Bibliothekartag took place in Graz. While the general theme is the forward-looking topic “Artificial Intelligence in Libraries”, there will be enough time and space to discuss current issues as well. It is a mutual wish of both hosting organizations – Vereinigung Österreichischer Bibliothekarinnen und Bibliothekare (VÖB) and the Büchereiverband Österreichs (BVÖ) – to offer an agenda displaying a large variety of topics relevant to the profession, while at the same time showing outsiders how deeply the field is involved in technological development and its impact on society. The festival address not only to Austrian colleagues from scientific and public libraries but to colleagues from other countries as well. The intention is to broaden our perspective by an exchange with other disciplines and to try to challenge expectations of the public towards the institutions.
