The representatives of the Croatian National Tourist Board in Slovenia took to the streets of Ljubljana’s old town to announce Rijeka as the European Capital of Culture for 2020. The official statement and presentation were followed by traditional and modern music and dance performances by local Rijeka artists, giving us a taste of what’s to come next year. The musically accompanied lively program was planned throughout the day and included various locations in the centre of Ljubljana.

Numerous rich cultural programmes of high artistic quality are promised to introduce and celebrate Rijeka’s diverse talents, but to see, hear and experience more of Rijeka’s culture, we will have to wait until the end of January 2020, which will mark the official start of ECoC 2020.
