Traditional annual Forum of the Croatian Meetings and Events Industry starts off again for its eighth edition on December 10 2019, at The Westin Zagreb Hotel

The Croatian Meeting Professionals Association (CMPA) is a non-profit organisation and the leading professional association of Croatian meetings industry stakeholders. The Association’s goals include improving professional standards in meetings and events services, the development and recognition of industry professionals and Association members as leading representatives of the industry in Croatia. CMPA is a member of the European Federation of the Associations of Professional Congress Organisers (EFAPCO) and Preferred Provider of the Convention Industry Council (CIC) for education for access to CMP certification. CMPA owns and provides its own certification programme CCMEP (Certified Croatian Meetings & Events Professional).

Every year, CMPA organises a meeting of business, congress, incentive and event professionals, which is an opportunity for Association members and other stakeholders involved in the Croatian meetings and events industry to meet, network and learn about all the latest trends in the industry and Association projects. The annual Forum is organised with support from the Croatian National Tourist Board, the Zagreb Tourist Board and the Croatian Chamber of Economy, Tourism Sector.

This year the focus is on “Incentives & Events“

The Eighth Forum of the Croatian Meetings and Events Industry starts on the 10th of December 2019 at The Westin Zagreb Hotel with welcome addresses by representatives of the Croatian National Tourist Board and Ministry of Tourism, followed by a CMPA report on the Association’s activities in 2019 and plans for 2020, as well as an overview of future activities of the Croatian National Tourist Board – Convention Department.

This year, the forum will focus on Incentives & Events. Hugo Slimbrouck, will introduce new trends in the field of organising incentives and events as a keynote speaker.

His presentation will be followed by a panel discussion with representatives from Croatian companies that organise incentive travel and events as buyers and CMPA members who organise incentive and event programmes for them as providers. The panel will be hosted by Jasminka Jelčić, psychologist and organisational development consultant.

The Events Industry Council assigns four educational points for topics covered by the Forum. Industry professionals who own CCMEP certificates that need re-certification after five years should know that participation in this Forum is considered in the re-certification.

In addition to lectures and discussions on interesting topics and exciting guest speakers, another part of the Forum is the presentation of annual awards to “Ambassadors of the Croatian Meetings Industry” for special merit in promoting meetings, incentives and events in Croatia and for their leading role in endorsing Croatia as a potential host destination for international meetings and events.
