the Arab world’s biggest event WILL BE DELAYED

The significant impact of COVID-19 on global public, social and economic health has led the organisers of Expo 2020 Dubai to consider postponing the largest ever event to be staged in the Arab world. The 173-day Expo was originally expected to run from October 20, 2020 to April 10, 2021, and host a variety of architectural displays.

The Expo 2020 Dubai Steering Committee – comprising members of the senior leadership of Expo 2020 and World Expo governing body the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), as well as some International Participants – collectively agreed to consider a one-year delay. As a global event dedicated to finding solutions to some of the world’s most pressing issues, Expo 2020 Dubai was planned to showcase a range of ingenious ideas, innovations and best practices with the potential to improve the lives of people and the state of the planet. Participating nations have offered Expo 2020 Dubai their full support and solidarity after the decision was made.
