A quick hop and a jump onto PlanetIMEX’s latest Networking Island now offer visitors the chance to register for ‘Conversations with Brella’, a peer-to-peer networking platform based on self-selected discussion topics.
Registration for Conversations with Brella, which is free of charge, is open to everyone in the business events industry. It provides an opportunity to enjoy casual, creative business conversations on a one-to-one basis. The IMEX Group is positioning the new service as the chance to have thoughtful virtual ‘watercooler’ chats.
Special interest topic areas
Once registered, business event professionals choose their special interest areas from a series of specially curated topics related to the business events, incentive travel and meetings industry. These have been crafted combining IMEX’s usual 10 education tracks, findings from partner and industry surveys, as well as hot topics from events industry media. Options include thought leadership, crisis management, destination management, event technology, future event security and wellbeing. The system then acts as ‘matchmaker’, using artificial intelligence to suggest like-minded people who are either topic experts or who have an interest in exploring the same subject. Users then define their availability using the inbuilt calendar and message each other to arrange a virtual meeting.
Ville Vanhala, VP of Global Partnerships at Brella, adds: “We’re incredibly honoured to be bringing virtual networking to the entire IMEX community at PlanetIMEX. These times have shown us how powerful our own networks are, and there’s no reason why we can’t grow them even while sequestered in our homes. Whether it’s to talk business, strategy or just to have a laugh, connecting with each other is more important than ever, and there’s no better place for that right now than on PlanetIMEX.”
Many of IMEX’s own team will be available for conversations on Brella with expertise in sustainable event planning, strategic planning, industry partnerships, operations, education, finance, event tech, hosted buyer programmes, digital marketing and more. Experts who delivered sessions at the recent EduMonday Live will also be available to share their insight.
