With an easing of the COVID-19 situation in Taiwan, restrictions are further loosening and more public facilities are reopening. On June 11, 2020, a MICE Restart Press Conference was hosted by the Bureau of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Economic Affairs and Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), announcing the reopening of domestic MICE with new public health regulations. In attendance were the TECA, TCEA, and venue principals.

Since Lunar New Year, domestic conferences and exhibitions numbered almost zero; both venues and related stakeholders were facing challenges. After reopening, a boost is anticipated, estimating 50 events during June and July covering industries that include beverages, baking, outdoor sports, video games, and more. People are welcome to return to venues to experience post-COVID-19 in Taiwan.

At the beginning of this year, Taiwan’s implementation of epidemic prevention work has been indispensable, plus the nation has been able to help countries around the world with fighting against the epidemic through knowledge sharing, face mask donations, and other types of assistance. Taiwan has taken the lead in preparing to restart, and Taiwan will continue to give help to other countries.
