THE COHESIVE THREAD OF CONVENTA CROSSOVER 2020
Human to Human communication will always win. The fact that digital ecosystems allow endless manipulation is scary. Just think about the fake news syndrome and how it can disrupt the political and economic situation across the globe. If we automatise society to the point, where all communication takes place online, I seriously question the future of humanity. Critical thinking and progress will be replaced by an Orwellian dictatorship. That is why events are so important. They are the last defence against dictatorship, fascism and all negativity. Through history, events helped society develop and preserve culture. If and when events are completely banned: a time of darkness and retrograde transpires.
The meetings industry is enduring and every challenging situation made it even stronger and more advanced. As event planners, we should strive for the gradual removal of event restrictions, as only through sharing ideas, empathy and solidarity can we progress.
You will not find solace at Conventa Crossover. You will find answers and solutions for the survival of our industry. You will find opinions of courageous and resilient speakers that will mark the 5th edition of the event- a hybrid conference designed using the “Power To The Meetings” philosophy, where the needs of individual attendees are put at the forefront. Conventa Crossover attendees will learn how to carry out events that satisfy the physical, social and holistic needs of participants after and during COVID-19.
Our motto remains the same; life is too short to waste time at boring events.
The best spices for successful events are creativity and innovation, which will also be the cohesive threads of this year’s conference. When it gets tough, you have to keep fighting. We aren’t fueled by nostalgia and yearning to get back to old tracks, but rather the opposite. To move forward and escape old habits. The coronavirus just sped up our journey to become a more sustainable industry. “Power to the Meetings” is a concept that advocates more quality and greater responsibility; to the attendees, environment and ourselves.
With its innovative and bold programme, we want Conventa Crossover to become a good practice case that will empower colleagues and instil optimism for the future. Crossover is a space intended for people who haven’t yet lost hope in our fundamental mission – making progress in the meetings industry. An industry that addresses all human senses through the universal language of events.
