“Stadtmarken-Monitor 2020” by branding agency Brandmeyer agency surveyed the image of the 50 largest German cities and found that all age groups perceived Hamburg as the strongest city brand.
The national survey of 10,000 people also found that Germany’s second-largest city tops the charts for uniqueness, future development and standard of living. Hamburg claimed the top spot, followed by Munich and Freiburg, in a number of categories: attractiveness, future development, city break destination, likeability, uniqueness and standard of living.
Alongside brand strength, the Stadtmarken Monitor also measured how cities are perceived in terms of security, mobility and digitalisation, with Hamburg ranking first to third across these categories.
