At the Prague Convention Bureau, they are all the more pleased that the Prague meetings industry is one of the fields largely represented by women. This is not a recent trend, but a long-term phenomenon. Now, symbolically in the month when the world commemorates International Women’s Day (March 8), a new member is joining the Board of Directors of the Prague Convention Bureau – and it is a woman. Dana Prejzková from AIM Group International was elected by the Prague Convention Bureau members to replace Petr Břinčil (GUARANT International), a departing member of the Board of Directors representing the PCO chapter.
In the current Board of Directors, consisting of five members representing the individual chapters within the Prague Convention Bureau, female members have prevailed by a ratio of 4:1. In addition to Sanjiv Suri (Zátiší Catering Group), President of the Board, and Roman Muška, Director of the Prague Convention Bureau, the management of the organization is made up of only female representatives. Recently elected Dana Prejzková on the Board of Directors joins the company of:
– Vice President Lenka Žlebková, Director of the Prague Congress Centre and also former Director of the Prague Convention Bureau between 2010 to 2014;
– Vice President Sylvie Neves, Director of MCI Prague; who has been on the Board of Directors of the Prague Convention Bureau for more than 5 years;
– Kateřina Joklová, Director of Vienna House Andel’s Prague.
The strong representation of women on the Board of Directors of the Prague Convention Bureau indicates that there are highly qualified women in the Prague meetings industry, and they have been very successful in their leadership positions in individual companies thanks to their managing skills. Of all the Prague Convention Bureau partner entities, over a quarter of them are led by women.
“I am pleased to welcome a new representative of PCO companies in the ranks of the PCB Board of Directors, and at the same time, to state that the Prague congress industry is one of the fields with an increasingly strong representation of women in leadership. Equality of opportunities should be a matter of course, and I am glad that we have been applying and supporting this principle for a long time in the business in which I have been active for two decades. After all, this is also evident in the Prague Convention Bureau staff composition, whose successful operation has been carried out by purely female team for several years running,” comments Roman Muška on behalf of the Prague Convention Bureau.
