The MICE metropolis Munich with its numerous partners presents further current news from the technology sector.

Hilton Munich Airport

The Hilton Munich Airport is the first hotel of the Hilton Group in Germany that has taken an important and correct step towards digitalization. Since the beginning of 2021, the standardized and in Germany necessary special registration obligation according to § 29ff. BMG for guests on arrival has been digitized and the associated printing process on paper has been abolished.

This conversion required technical equipment, but more importantly, the legal basis for the correct registration process still had to be coherent. From now on, guests no longer fill out forms in paper form but sign on a digital tablet, which already transfers all the necessary data for the registration process to the digital registration form via a scan.

Since the introduction, the hotel has saved around 6,200 sheets of paper per month. This corresponds to an annual CO2 emission of approximately 412.39 kilograms with a currently reduced occupancy due to the renovation currently taking place. At the same occupancy rate as before the pandemic, the elimination of the production of the required paper and the additional printing of the registration forms alone would save around 800 kilograms of CO2 emissions.

The Westin Grand München, Sheraton Arabellapark, Sheraton Westpark and Aloft München

The four Munich hotels The Westin Grand Munich, Sheraton Arabellapark, Sheraton Westpark and Aloft Munich not only offer the usual excellent service physically but are also increasingly relying on the help of digital tools to offer guests flexibility on a new level.

Less contact and more convenience for Marriott Bonvoy members: guests can check-in contactless before their stay, receive notifications when their room is ready and check out without going through the front desk. In addition, visitors save a trip to the front desk because their mobile key gives them access to public areas such as the parking garage, fitness centre and pool. Business travellers and meeting planners can also take advantage of a wide range of digital options when it comes to events.

The Westin Grand Hotel at Arabellapark offers almost unlimited technical possibilities. For example, the 800m² ballrooms can be transformed into a streaming studio. Hybrid multi-location events with an unlimited number of participants allow a high degree of flexibility in event planning. Individual digital solutions create a feeling of connectedness: live voting, file exchange, recording and archiving can run in parallel without any problems.

Hybrid events are also possible at the Sheraton Munich Westpark Hotel: with reliable partner XScreen, hybrid events become reality: multi-touch displays with integrated video conferencing system for up to five participants ensure a smooth event.
