Among Maribor’s most extraordinary journeys through its unmistakable flavours and music is an authentic rock ‘n’ roll tour. A city once famed as a rebellious rock capital in the 1960s, Maribor will present itself in a new light – on plates, in glasses and in the heart, where good old rock belongs.

The unique guided tours take place every Friday, from January to December, and enchant a genuine rock ’n’ roll experience in the heart of the city. Iconic chefs and musicians from Maribor are maestros of the flavours. The guided experience will entice visitors to uncover a hitherto unknown side of Maribor. Top wines and flavours are combined with music from when Maribor was the capital of Slovenian rock ‘n’ roll. The journey will take visitors on a stroll through the culmination of Slovenia’s modern cuisine. In addition, attendees will get to taste incredible wine in a city where rockers were once outlaws.

The first Maribor barista in HI KO FI serves an afro beat, while the interactive digital table in the Maribor Castle offers a pheasant pie that even a glam rocker could not resist. In the gourmet wine shop Levino, one can relish a selection of 70 types of top local wines.

Before the grand finale, the attendees will head to the creative centre for abstract art GT22 before a flabergasting, rock experience in Restaurant MAK. One of Slovenia’s top chefs, David Vračko, always surprises his guests with bold combinations. Lucky guests might get a glimpse of his record and guitar collection.
