LOCATION
In the town of Meljine, the Venetians constructed a lazaretto in 1732. The building overlooks the strategically important entrance to the Bay of Kotor. In its golden days, the building served as a checkpoint for product import and a quarantine station for sailors who returned from long voyages across the seven seas. The lazaretto built here was the first stop for merchant ships in the South Adriatic seas, where sailors had to quarantine for at least 40 days. Russian investors with a knack for details thoroughly revamped the representative building. In 2018, the historical part of the hotel first opened its doors. A contemporary building soon followed with 104 hotel rooms and a small marina. The strategic position of the hotel is exquisite and unbelievably scenic. You are bound to be astonished by the vistas of the most narrow part of Kotor Bay.
ACCESSIBILITY
The hotel boasts an attractive location near the entrance to the Bay of Kotor and is easily accessible from the airport in Dubrovnik or Tivat. Both airports have solid global connections, at least during the summer. In the off-season, Dubrovnik is undoubtedly the preferred option. The historical part of the complex comprises seven buildings interconnected by an enclosed courtyard. Envisaged as a monumental complex, the hotel follows the timeless architectural heritage of the Venetians. Investors carefully renovated the historical part, entirely preserving the Chapel of St. Rocco. Combined with glass elements, the structure appears elegant and exudes a prestigious feel. We can undoubtedly confirm the historical part of the hotel is among the most original and memorable Adriatic hotels. Given the hand-picked furniture, the hotel could easily be a designer hotel. Although the newly constructed contemporary building is less spectacular architecture-wise, it blends seamlessly with the surroundings from the seaside. Among the countless eye-catching details, the daring abstract canvas works of painter Ljubomir Popadić truly stand out, as do works by Đorđije Bato Boljević, Vaso Nikčević, Sreten Nikčević, and Ivica Aranđus. Inspired by the picturesque diversity of the Bay of Kotor, the art makes a strong impression.
WARM ENTRÉE - The staff and the culinary experience
The staff is worthy of five stars. Characterised by kindness and hospitality, they are absolute professionals. After a long and hectic tourist season, they maintain a top-tier level. That is evident while observing the joyful receptionist and the entire team working at Rosemarine Restaurant. The personnel working in service are exceptional, and their wine knowledge is impressive. At Rosemarine Restaurant, the menu follows the philosophy of less is more, adding a local twist and highlighting healthy Mediterranean cuisine. The restaurant’s tuna tartare is at the forefront of the Montenegrin gastronomy scene. Likewise, a superb trend-setting breakfast awaits guests, although served in the contemporary building. It undoubtedly meets expectations, offering a tasteful and unforgettable sweet ending starring tiny fruit pies. The utterly friendly supervisor Ana ensured the breakfast ran smoothly and welcomed every guest with a smile. That is what makes the hotel stand out from the competition.

The Orjen Hall is undoubtedly one of the most authentic meeting halls in the Adriatic. With the enclosed atrium and bar, it forms a convincing whole.
