At the end of August, Conventa Crossover, a festival of events and live marketing, will again return to Ljubljana. Before the start of the autumn season, organisers and creative minds in the meetings industry have been convening at the iconic festival. The eighth edition will again take place in Ljubljana, and Cankarjev dom will be the host for the third time. The festival will take place between 28 and 29 August 2023.

Natalija Bah Čad, project manager at Toleranca marketing, the agency that organises the event, explained why they decided to host the festival in Cankarjev dom again. “Cankarjev dom is an institution where paths of artists, intellectuals and all who cherish culture, art and creativity cross. I firmly believe the space and ambience define the mood of attendees. In Cankarjev dom’s Club CD, our attendees have always felt welcome. The space is just the right size to encourage interaction among attendees, and the views of Ljubljana Castle and Rožnik incite inspiration.”

“Attendees feel even better under the canopies of the trees in Europa Park in front of Cankarjev dom, where a part of our event takes place. The second reason we return to Cankarjev dom is the superb team. Alongside Maja Vidergar and Gregor Rogač, with whom we meticulously plan the event months in advance, we can always rely on their excellent technical team. The venue’s technical equipment and professional staff represent a winning combination for executing our event. Moreover, we are fond of Cankarjev dom because of their sustainable initiatives when organising events. We believe we can take important steps together to organise sustainable events in the future.”

The organisers and attendees will focus on how to make better events and change them into immersive experiences.

This year, speakers and attendees at Conventa Crossover will seek answers about the broader regenerative role of events as boosters of development. The festival will take place between 28 and 29 August 2023 in Cankarjev dom’s Club CD.

The central topic of this year’s event is encapsulated in the formula Exp = Evt2, or, in other words, from boring events to immersive experiences. The organisers and attendees will focus on how to make better events and change them into immersive experiences in person, digitally or in the metaverse. Conventa Crossover will also delve into the sustainable legacy of events. The event brings an electrifying fusion of live events and cutting-edge marketing wizardry to Crossover. Crossover isn’t your typical conference; it’s a festival of events and live marketing where innovation, inspiration, and a healthy dose of professional humour collide. As Gorazd Čad, the founder of Crossover, explained: “We believe learning should be fun, unforgettable and occasionally mind-boggling.”

No More Boring Events

The first day of the festival will shine a light on the finalists of the Conventa Best Event Award competition. They will aim to convince the esteemed international jury and win the coveted unicorn award in eleven categories. If you wish to discover award-winning events organised last year and in 2023, we invite you to join us in Cankarjev dom’s Club CD, where you can vote for your favourite events.

The theme of the second day will be “No more boring events”. Crossover Legends will come to Ljubljana, alongside new faces, from the moderator, Juraj Holub, to handpicked speakers who share a similar unconventional approach and rich career experience. The event’s dynamic format will see attendees listen to exciting Fire Talks and Agora presentations in groups. Participants will also debate with the speakers, and the Zen Garden in Europa Park will highlight the most outlandish creative minds and artists without whom the world of events would be incomplete.
